Course Introduction

I invite you to listen to a few introductory words that will set the stage for the course and, hopefully, give you an interesting perspective on working with AI. Also, take a look at the information provided below the video.

A brief summary of the lesson:

  • Artificial Intelligence is developing very rapidly, so the current capabilities of ChatGPT and other tools should be seen as a transitional stage rather than the final destination.

  • The development of AI can be well described using Gartner’s Hype Cycle: initial excitement is followed by disappointment, and only later does the technology enter a more mature and productive stage of use. There are many signs that, in the case of AI, we may be approaching the phase of disillusionment.

  • There are many exaggerated expectations surrounding AI. Not everything that artificial intelligence is claimed to be capable of actually works well in practice, and for some tasks, large language models are still not the best solution.

  • These problems and limitations should not discourage us from continuing to work with AI. The goal is to gradually develop a more informed and effective way of using its capabilities.

Exercises

I also encourage you to complete the prepared exercises designed to help reinforce the knowledge covered in the course. They are divided into two main categories:

  • exercises focused on creating prompts using specific prompting techniques — these prompts can then be submitted for AI-based evaluation

  • interactive exercises designed to help you better understand how LLMs work (already available!) and how selected prompting techniques operate (coming soon)

Certificate

After completing all lessons, you will receive a certificate. Remember to mark each lesson as completed. You will find the appropriate button at the bottom of the screen.
